WORLD CLASS EXPERIENCE in all areas of Gender Selection and Fertility
Gender selection using Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) has become a popular option for couples undergoing In Vitro Fertilization who desire to choose the sex of their child. While the primary indication for the screening is to increase the likelihood of pregnancy by transferring embryos with the correct number of chromosomes, PGS also provides couples with the ability to choose the gender of their child.
In addition to Gender Selection with PGS, Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) can identify particular genetic diseases and assist “at risk” couples in reducing the possibility of transmitting a sex-linked genetic disease to their child. PGD is conducted during an In Vitro Fertilization cycle, and gender selection rates approach 100%.
IVF gives hope to couples that were previously considered infertile. HRC Fertility has used this procedure to make parents out of thousands of couples who were unable to conceive using other first- line fertility treatments. The process involves retrieving eggs from ovarian follicles, fertilizing eggs in a lab, incubating embryos, and finally transferring or implanting embryos into the mother’s uterus.

HRC Family

Dreams Come True

After having three sons, Jayne and Jon Cornwill were desperate to have a baby girl. It had always been Jayne’s dream to raise a daughter, and the couple felt as though something was missing from their family. Non-medical gender selection remains unavailable in Australia, so the couple traveled to the US to undergo Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening to ensure the gender of their embryos.

Healthy Baby Boy

After nearly two years of failed pregnancy tests and heartache, this couple was referred to HRC Fertility by their OB/GYN. The mother-to-be was a carrier of a rare gene disorder which added a level of complexity. After their initial consultation, the couple decided to undergo In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) along with PGS screening, in the hopes that their dream of starting a family would become a reality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to come to California to meet with a fertility doctor before I start treatment?
No, after an initial phone consultation and testing, patients can start treatment in their own countries and are monitored by a local fertility clinic that works closely with HRC. HRC Fertility manages the cycle remotely.

I don’t have a fertility clinic near me to monitor my cycle. What are my options?
HRC Fertility will find physicians — radiologists and Ob/Gyns — near you who can perform tests and monitor your cycle.

If I choose gender selection with HRC, how long do I have to stay in California?
Once patients are halfway through the treatment cycle, they come to California where they will stay for 7 to 10 days. During that stay, the following happens:

  • The patients’ eggs will be retrieved,
  • The eggs will be fertilized
  • HRC will perform the genetic testing on the embryos
  • The embryos will be transferred
