Meet Dr. Sharrón L. Manuel, MD, PhD, FACOG of HRC Fertility Pasadena
HRC Fertility Pasadena is proud to welcome Sharrón L. Manuel, MD, PhD, FACOG to our group of award winning physicians.
Dr. Sharrón Manuel is a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist who is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Manuel’s philosophy has always been patient-centered care, prioritizing the patient’s well-being and taking a holistic approach (incorporating an individual’s religion, spirituality, culture, etc.) to their care, while acting as a partner in their health journey. She believes in shared decision-making and educating her patients so they can make well informed choices. Dr. Manuel also sees herself as an advocate, speaking up for patient’s rights and needs when they are unable to do so. She hopes that in doing this, patients feel a sense of connectedness.
Dr. Manuel received her Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Drexel University. She went on to receive her M.D. and Ph.D. at Drexel University College of Medicine. She subsequently completed her OB/Gyn residency at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY followed by a Masters program in reproductive science and medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Furthermore, she completed her fellowship training at the University of Cincinnati in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.
Dr. Manuel greatly enjoys research, with current interests in inflammatory responses affecting fertility and ovarian aging. She also has a strong interest in health advocacy and bridging the gap in racial health disparities. Dr. Manuel has 19 peer-reviewed publications and has presented at a number of regional, national, and international conferences. Some of her highlighted accolades include: The Drexel University College of Medicine Graduate Citation Award – Early Career or Young Investigator, the Society for the Study of Reproduction Burroughs Wellcome Travel Junior Faculty Fellowship, and the International Conference on Human Retrovirology: HTLV and Related Viruses Young Scientist Award.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Manuel is an active member of her church and a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc which she previously served as lead teen advisor of the El Paso chapter and on the Membership Committee and Multi-Age Group Planning Committee of the Cincinnati chapter. In her free time, Dr. Manuel enjoys spending time with her family watching movies and participating in game nights, dancing, cooking, riding her Peloton, and being outdoors.
