Dr. Bradford Kolb discusses geriatric pregnancy terminology.

Dr. Bradford Kolb was recently featured in a televised segment on 3 News Las Vegas, where he addressed growing concerns over the use of the term “geriatric pregnancy.”

A new study conducted by HRC Fertility and Propeller Insights reveals that many women would consider switching healthcare providers if they were referred to using the term “geriatric pregnancy,” a label some believe is outdated and potentially off-putting.

Dr. Bradford Kolb, Pasadena infertility specialist and president of HRC Fertility, commented on the research, emphasizing how language can significantly affect the relationship between patients and their doctors. He states, “It’s time that we stop using terms that are dismissive and offensive to patients.”

The study indicates that the term, which has been historically applied to pregnancies in women aged 35 and older, may play a role in shaping women’s choices about their healthcare providers.
