National Doctor's DayA day to salute HRC Fertility’s reproductive endocrinologists

Friday, March 30 is National Physicians’ Day, which is the perfect opportunity to become better acquainted with the doctors at HRC Fertility and to salute their efforts to help our patients become parents.

HRC Fertility has a diverse group of 14 doctors who work in 11 locations throughout southern California. Collectively, they attended some of the world’s most prestigious medical schools followed by rigorous specialty and subspecialty training. They each have spent years preparing so they can help you build your family. Their IVF success rates, as verified by the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART), are some of the most impressive in the nation.

In honor of National Physicians’ Day, here are some observations about this distinguished group of medical practitioners.

They are reproductive endocrinologists

You may describe our doctors as fertility specialists, infertility physicians or IVF doctors, but they also are reproductive endocrinologists.

A reproductive endocrinologist (REI) undergoes specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology before undertaking sub-specialty training in infertility and reproductive endocrinology. An REI also is a trained surgeon who can perform laparoscopies, hysteroscopies and other types of gynecological surgeries.

Reproductive endocrinologists evaluate and treat infertility issues to help couples conceive and deliver a baby. They also can address hormonal or endocrine dysfunction not related to infertility.

The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology set the standards for their training and certification, which is an intense process taking years to achieve.

They are teachers and researchers

Our physicians are committed to educating you about infertility. They begin with the free seminars HRC Fertility offers potential patients so they can learn about the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. Our doctors use every appointment as an opportunity to provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about the next steps in your fertility journey.

Several of our doctors also have academic appointments at area medical schools and many conduct research and publish scholarly papers about various aspects of reproductive medicine. They all are committed to continuing education so they can remain at the cutting edge of their continually evolving field.

They have diverse backgrounds and experiences

Many of our doctors speak other languages, including Spanish, Farsi, Hebrew, Romanian and French. They have received awards and recognition for their medical accomplishments as well as for their civic contributions. Some frequently appear in the media, including popular television shows, and a number have written books.

They want you to feel confident

Selecting a fertility specialist will probably be one of the most important decisions you make. You will entrust this doctor to help build your family. As you make your choice, you should consider the doctor’s education, training, experience and success rates. You also want to make sure you have a rapport and communicate honestly with your provider and are confident about the treatment plan he or she will prescribe.

The number one priority of each HRC Fertility doctor is to help you have a healthy pregnancy and baby.  Our physicians have accomplished this for thousands of patients and, for this, we salute them today and every day.
