On the Infertility Bookshelf- Part Two

So much information about infertility! How can you choose? For some people, book reviews and checking to see if a resource is given a good amount of stars helps guide the weeding out process. On the Infertility Bookshelf – Part One

On the Infertility Bookshelf – Part One

By Louise Sattler, Psychologist

Many books are written on the subject of infertility. Often times, they are chocked full of salient medical information as they are penned by physicians or researchers. Yet, from time to time a book is written that tugs at the heartstrings, embellishes the thoughts of a person who is in the midst or gone through the infertility journey or simply is written as a source of inspiration.

Infertility and Acupuncture Part One

Infertility and Acupuncture Part One

by Shara Lawrence-Weiss

Can acupuncture increase your rate of fertility? Not all experts agree on the answer to that question but don’t write off the premise too quickly.

Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat chemotherapy patients, fibromyalgia, headaches, labor pain, low back pain, menstrual cramps, migraines, osteoarthritis, dental pain, and tennis elbow (MayoClinic.com). Acupuncture is increasingly being used to treat infertility, as well.

The Inland Empire: A Southern California Gem

I am what many consider a "newbie" to California. Born and raised on the east coast, my family recently relocated to Southern California.   Despite a full work schedule I do manage to squeeze in time to discover my new "home" and surrounding areas! Recently, I hopped in my car and drove EAST.  This was a bit unusual for me as I typically head south towards Orange County or WEST towards the ocean. But, on this occasion I set my wheels traveling the freeways eastward.

REDUCE STRESS and INCREASE WELLNESS with MUSIC

REDUCE STRESS and INCREASE WELLNESS with MUSIC

I want to start by thanking HRC Fertility of Rancho Cucamonga for allowing me an opportunity to talk about something that is a huge part of my life.  Music.  I’ve been involved in music for as long as I can remember, as a musician and a teacher for more than 20 years. During that time, my composing and teaching have included helping reduce stress of people who are pre-natal or experiencing fertility difficulties.

Infertility; You’re Not Alone

Infertility; You’re Not Alone

By Beth Engelman

www.mommyonashoestring.com

My mom had 4 babies in a row. My siblings had 2 each without issue, so when I turned 35 and my husband and I decided that we should start to “try” to have a baby I was certain it would happen quickly. What I didn’t expect was that 10 months and many negative pregnancy tests later we were no closer to having a baby. We simply could not get pregnant. And what was worse was that everyone around me was getting pregnant, that is everyone but me. As I approached my 36th birthday, I had a sit down with my husband. Maybe there was something wrong.

When your biological clock betrays you

By  Jennifer Bright Reich

Remember the phrase, “You can have it all?”  That is what I thought would happen to my friends and my myself as we transitioned from full time employment ( I was a Lieutenant in the Army) to motherhood.  We were all ready to journey together as women in our  mid-thirties and early forties in to the foray of starting a family.  And, we had plenty of company as  approximately 20 percent of women  in the U.S. wait until age 35 to start trying to get pregnant
