We have been ttc for 9 months. We have two children already that were easily conceived. My youngest is 5 and I am 35, my husband is 40. My luteal phase is only 5 days and I feel as though that is the reason we are not conceiving. What would a fertility doctor do for this?

Dear rlbennett,
An inadequate luteal phase is not very common. I would confirm ovulation first, and make sure it is adequate. There is a possibility that an "inadequate luteal phase" actually reflects ovulatory dysfunction. You should consult with an infertility physician and obtain some basic hormonal blood tests and an ultrasound.
Hope this helps,
