Your nurses will gladly assist you with the injections until you feel more comfortable with self administration of the shots.

If the injections are subcutaneous (which most are) than they can be given in your thigh, abdomen or arm. I know abdominal injections sound creepy, but most patients prefer that location in terms of ease and comfort.

Hi,

When I went through my first IVF I didn't realize I had to do shots and I really hate even getting a shot from the dr. So when I found out I had to do shots, I asked my friend to do it for me. She is diabetic and knows all about them so it was easy for me to have her do it. By the time I was only on 1 shot my husband was able to do it and it was nothing. This time I am having my husband do all of them and I am not scared at all about it. Your nurses will help like the Dr.'s said above and make you very comfortable. I could do it for a friend but I still can't do it myself, but have no problems with my friend or husband do them for me. Just relax and don't stress over it just sounds worse than it really is.
