Hi there, I am interested to know if you perform PGD for international patients?
We are from New Zealand, and believe my husband has a Robertsonian translocation of chromosomes 13 and 14. We are currently waiting for tests to confirm this, however this is what his mother had informed him.

Following on from that, I am mostly interested to know if your clinic performs the additional test (conversion?) which can distinguish between balanced and normal embryos (and not just between normal/balanced and unbalanced)? It is not offered anywhere in Australia or New Zealand, basically any of the normal or balanced embryos could be transferred if we had PGD here. However I have seen this additional test to distinguish between them offered in the United States so I know it's possible...

Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Heather01,
We do perform PGD for international patients. We will need the genetic report with the translocation exactly defined in order to check with the lab and give you a definitive answer about possibly defining normal embryos and balanced carriers.
In order to get started, please call my office to set up an initial phone or Skype consult, and we'll gladly assist you.
