Sorry if this posted twice. I am a 35 year old with five children. Four boys one girl. I obviously am interested in family balancing. I read that your Laguna Beach office possibly is doing the Microsort procedure. I would like more details on this. Any information, including possible costs and how often travel would be needed. We reside in Texas. I have no issues getting pregnant, and get pregnant on the first try when tracking ovulation. I would like to do IUI as opposed to IVF. Thank you for your guidance and any information, again, would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, for no good reason, the FDA did not approve Microsort in the U.S., so it is no longer available here. I apologize for the misunderstanding. The only reliable method for family balancing available here is IVF with pre-implantation diagnosis (PGD). Don't feel too bad. Here are a couple of interesting facts about Microsort vs. IVF:

* the pregnancy rate with Microsort/IUI was really low. The process decimates the sperm. It was a miracle anyone conceived.
* the pregnancy rates with IVF/PGD are much higher, since we are working with chromosomally normal embryos in fertile women.
* the accuracy with Microsort was only 80 percent for boys and 90 percent for girls.
* the accuracy of IVF/PGD is close t 100 percent.
If you would like to learn more about this process, please call 818-788-7288 to arrange a phone or Skype consult with me.
