I was hoping to ask your advice regarding my IVF treatment. I am 39 and have done 4 cycles of IVF. I am a very low responder and have had one cycle cancelled due to low response, one cycle cancelled due to a progesterone spike, one cycle (antagonist protocol) that produced 4 eggs with 1 making it to day 5, and my most recent cycle (microdose flare protocol) with 3 eggs, 2 fertilizing and doing a 3 day transfer. My RE triggered me when my lead follicle was at 25 for the most recent cycle.

What would you suggest moving forward? Do you have suggestions regarding a stim protocol to yield better results or moving to donor options? Any advice is appreciated! As for many, this has been such a roller coaster and so frustrating that half my cycles have been cancelled.

Firstly, I'm sorry to hear that you have had such a difficult time so far. Given your history it appears that a donor egg cycle would make the most sense and give you the shortest time to pregnancy. Given that your uterus is ok (ie., no large fibroids or scar tissue), your pregnancy rate should be very high (oftentimes 60 to 70%).

I do want to share an article with you that I wrote for Resolve, the National Infertility Association. In it I discuss different protocols to assist those who are low responders. http://www.resolve.org/about-infertility/medical-conditions/low-ovarian-response.html

Best of luck!
