After two failed IVF cycles, we are considering whether to go for a last IVF cycle with my wife's eggs or use donor eggs. My wife, 37 y.o., has been diagnosed with endometriosis, and her ovarian reserve seems to be low (AMH level of 0.3). We would like to know whether there is any risk that ovarian stimulation programs (agonist or antagonist protocols) somehow induce premature ovarian failure or lead to an early menopause. My wife is very reluctant to risking an early menopause, and she needs to be sure about it before going on with a last IVF cycle.

I would really appreciate it if you point me to some references (medical literature or others) that further discuss this issue.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Fertility drugs do not induce premature ovarian failure when used in IVF. You may find additional information by doing a search on http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.
Hope this helps, and I wish you best of luck with you cycle.
