I have breast cancer and i also turned 40 this year.
What are the chances that hormone shots and ivf would bring my cancer back? I have also thought about using an egg donor. Have you had other breast cancer patients freeze their eggs or use egg donors over 40? Do they have successful pregnancies?

Thank you for contacting us. I am sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and wish you luck with your recovery. We like to see patients diagnosed with breast cancer rather quickly to help organize a good treatment plan with them and their treating provider. The goal is to try to harvest some eggs or embryos prior to any radiation or chemotherapy treatment. Our staff at HRC is sensitive to the importance of time in these matters. I would encourage you to contact our office as soon as possible to set up a consultation to see if you are a good candidate for egg or embryo freezing with the approval of your treating oncologist and answer any of your questions. Good luck and we look forward to hearing from you.

Warm wishes,
Alison Peck MD FACOG
