I've been going to a fertility clinic since November 2014. I have FSH 12 and AMH 1.15. My husband has low sperm motility and morphology and he also has vericocelle. I did an IUI with taking 50 mg clomid I Nov, another IUI with 100mg clomid in Dec & both failed. I was on the IVF track starting in early Feb. I took estrogens pills, then did menopur & follistm (300 Iu) injections. After 6 days of injections, my doctor told me that the ivf is cancelled because my ovaries only produced 3 or 4 good size eggs. So, I did another IUI in mid-Feb w/c also didn't work. I'm now recommended to do mini-IVF. I'm told that I'll be starting clomid again & this protocol will not require injections. I'd like yo get a 2nd opinion. I got pregnant naturally in 2013 but I miscarried in week 9. Please advise. My husband and I are desperate for answers.

Dr. Coffler,

Thank you for you reply. I am 35 years old. As I mentioned in the first post, the ultrasound showed 3 to 4 eggs in each of these cycle. My doctor never mentioned the microflare lupron protocol to me. Thanks again.

Hi genfer2,
I am sorry to hear about your troubles starting your family. Seems as you have diminished ovarian reserve and low response to fertility drugs. I agree that IVF may be a good option, but your age group is the most important factor, and it was not mentioned in your post. I am not sure that I would move to an IVF protocol with Clomid only, without trying, for example, a microflare Lupron protocol.
If you like a more educated answer, I suggest that you call my office and schedule a new patient consult, and we will do our best to help you.
